How to do this in the terminal in ubutu?

I am booting debian on my nexus one and it is telling me to Open a terminal window in android-sdk-linux_86/tools/ and im not sure how to do that (i might know how but have been up for 24+ hours now and im very tired) i am following this guide here, im on step 5

Thanks|||You have to download the Android SDK from http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.h鈥?/a> and then using the tools in there, you can plug your phone in via USB and type in the terminal "adb shell" to enter the phone's console.





So when they say android-sdk-linux_86/tools they mean to download the SDK , unpack it, then put it there then follow the rest of the instruction.
