Google Android Question!?

I have heard about the new Google Android OS that will run on Mobile Phones. I also heard it's "Open Source" which means that anyone can just pick up the SDK and write some software for the Operating system which is cool.

Because this it "Open Source", does that mean that you will be able to download the OS and install it on selected phones or does it only come with selected phones!

I know its a stupid question but if you can install the OS on your phone I will do it, because UIQ is annoyingly slow!|||It's Open Source only. You are correct. But is not simple(Nearly not possible) as installing(changing) OS in your computer as your wish...

It's manufacture work. They give mobile with Andorid (Andorid OS). On top of that you can install enormous application and middlewares.
