Easy rooting for nexus one?

hey well first off i have an unlocked Nexus One for AT%26amp;T and i love it but i would also like some of the features that rooting does. now i paid almost $600 for this phone (including accessories) and i dont want to brick or mess up this phone. any word on a one click rooting? maybe one of you guys can explain this to me. i consider myself as a rookie with this type of computing stuff. i also dont get how to put the android sdk into the C directory of my computer. any help please? i really really dont want to mess up my phone. im using a macbook pro running the latest version of Mac OS if thats any help|||If you're using a Mac, get the Mac version of the SDK. The C drive stuff won't matter, because Macs don't use windows drive mappings.

There is no one-click rooting. The Nexus has a locked bootloader that has to be unlocked first. Once you do that, you can install the recovery and system mod ROMs on the phone and experience the additional features and speed.

The only ROMs I've ever used are the Cyanogen ROMs. I unlocked my bootloader and had the ROMs loaded and the system running in a few minutes.

The instructions for doing everything are here:

Follow the link to the SDK setup and it explains how to set things up on a Mac.
