When is Google's Android OS being released???

I know that the Android SDK is out and available for downloading, so u can develop for Android, but when is the actual Android OS source code being released?|||Right now it's being rumored the OS will be used for the phone HTC Dream and a few other coming the end of this year. So hopefully the end of this year it should be available for all of us.
