Can an android device boot from another system like MeeGo or Maemo?

im a nokia fan but im thinking of switching to android but im wondering if i could download a nokia SDK and install it on Android and dual boot it. Like the Nokia N900 can dual boot with android. So can this also be done the other way around.|||theoretically, yes

practically, no

see this post on the Maemo / MeeGo site for a technical explanation... http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p=761鈥?/a>

a pragmatic explanation is... why would it?

the N900 users, even though being able to get a lot of apps from http://maemo.org/downloads/ are still fairly limited in their choices of apps (a few hundreds, even though covering most basic needs)

not to compare with hundreds of THOUSANDS of apps available for android...

furthermore, going to web sites offering services, as often as not you can see links for smart phone apps, usually iOS %26amp; android

thus, it is very interesting for N900 owners to access the android "market"

furthermore, the N900 owners %26amp; community are "geeker" then most smart phone communities

nothing like that for android.

what is there to win to get Maemo or MeeGo?

well, if you went android when you bought your smart phone, you choose to conform to the majority.

of course, it is always nice to try out something new, but, honestly? for curiosity, only.

in fact, the N900 is a pocket computer, bringing the whole set of Linux / GNU commands with it. and without a hardware keyboard (which, in my recollection, very few android devices have) this doesn't make any sense.|||yes u can. and u can Dual Boot Multiple ROMs on Your Android Device.
